Today we are profiling Denise of

Junque Soiree.

Here is our Q & A to get to know Junque soiree

1. How did you select your business name?

I design and teach mixed media and workshops using re purposed

and found items. We started calling my projects "junque journals". Then my love

stared this cute little thing calling all my stuff/collections "junk with a "Q""!!

(which of course makes it FANCY (kinda Frenchy) junk!!). When I started participating

in shows and taking my teaching on the road we combined the "junque"(fancy junk) with "Soiree"(fancy party)!! fancy, fun, junky party!

2. Do you have a blog/FB?

3. What is the best part of doing a show?

My very favorite thing is introducing a once defunct, newly refabuloused treasure

to a new, appreciative, loving home. Having hunted, found, fixed, altered, and

loved a piece that you then introduce to someone who who needed JUST THAT piece!!

I LOVE that. I also have to say...I love, love all my fellow vintage, junky friends, I have

met, and now get to call, some of the NEATEST people around..my friends.

4. Do you specialize in any one era or type of item?

I'm enamored with pretty much ANYTHING old, junky, rusty, funky, cream,

tossed, torn or broken. I do a lot with paper goods and altered arts, too.

5. Have you done other shows?

I've done Junk Salvation and the Carriage House Vintage Sale. I will be doing Plucky

Maidens and Junk Salvation (again) and hope to do a show with Roost coming

up soon. I also have a space in Uncovered Ruby and will soon be in two more locales

as well.

6. What will you have for September?

Halloween, Harvest, and Fall, of course! I have some really neat pieces I've been holding

onto just for this show. Shop early friends!! :)
